Jaime F. Ramirez, born and raised in Los Angeles.
This a work-space for Pictures and Writing.
I see Los Angeles as the last Western outpost, young relative to other cities in the country, and now reaching a moment in time where it’s beginning to stretch its legs.
I believe that Southern California is a place rich with stories that have not been told yet.
The training wheels of myths from the Hollywood dream factory are now falling off, and the city is finding its literary stride.
I’m here, in my uncertain time, observing a changing city, and I’m attempting to articulate a Western fiction, a Western myth, by carefully exploring the domain of people in their uncertain situations.
These are stories and poems and essays, but don’t take them too seriously. Just read them and leave a comment if you like them. Thanks.
